Palestine today recorded the highest number of daily deaths due to the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic in March, according to Minister of Health Mai Alkaila.
She said in her daily coronavirus report that 33 people have died of the disease in the last 24 hours, including 17 in the West Bank, 13 in the Gaza Strip and three in East Jerusalem.
In addition, 1845 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, including 972 in the West Bank, 505 in the Gaza Strip, and 368 in East Jerusalem.
Of the West Bank cases, 263 were in the Jenin district, 165 in Nablus, 134 in Hebron, 144 in Ramallah, 56 in Tulkarm, and 45 in Bethlehem.
A total of 2182 patients have recovered, among them 1239 in the West Bank, 718 in the Gaza Strip, and 225 in East Jerusalem.
Alkaila said 83 patients are in intensive care, among them 26 who are on ventilators.
