The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) decried in a statement the decision by Kosovo to open an embassy in occupied Jerusalem "as running counter to relevant international and UN resolutions, most notably Security Council resolution 478." It said, "The OIC reasserts its supportive stance on the Palestinian issue, grounded in the concept of peace through UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, both based on the Two-State solution with eastern al-Quds (Jerusalem) being the capital of the State of Palestine. A contrary, unilateral action is the worst course of action to take, and it will not serve the peace process..
