Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are expecting an infant ahead of schedule one year from now, Buckingham Palace has reported.
A tweet from the Royal Family account said the couple were "satisfied" to declare the news.
It included: "The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are enchanted with the news."
The 10th in line to the seat wedded Mr Brooksbank at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle in October 2018.
Posting a photograph of herself and her significant other on Instagram close by another of some infant shoes, the princess said the couple were "so energized".
Messages of praise for the eager guardians have included one from Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
The couple's child will be the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh's ninth extraordinary grandkid. Their eighth - the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's child, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor - was brought into the world last May.
Eugenie's folks, Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, will become grandparents unexpectedly.
The child kid or young lady will be brought into the world eleventh in line to the seat.
Since the kid will be brought into the world down a female line of the Royal Family - and drinks leader Mr Brooksbank has no imperial status - the person will be plain Master or Miss Brooksbank, with no illustrious title.
This could change if the Queen chose to give Mr Brooksbank an earldom or issue Letters Patent to alter the guidelines.
