Two people have died after contracting coronavirus, one of them in the besieged Gaza Strip and the other in the southern West Bank district of Hebron, 602 people were confirmed as infected with the disease while 825 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, today said Minister of Health Mai Alkaila.
She said that a 61-year-old man has died in the Gaza Strip of coronavirus, the second fatality in the sea enclave since the outbreak of the disease in Palestine in March, and a 78-year-old woman has died in Hebron, which brings the total fatalities in Palestine since March to 152, or 0.6 percent of the total cases.
Of the 602 new cases, 205 were in the Hebron district and 164 in the Jerusalem district, among them 125 in the city of Jerusalem. Ramallah district had 88 new cases, Bethlehem 61 and Qalqilya 38. Two of the new cases were recorded in the Gaza Strip.
Most of the recovered cases were in the Ramallah district followed by Hebron.
The Minister said 29 corona patients are still critical in hospitals and four of them are on respirators.
